Wasteland Mapping & Groundwater Potential

Increasing human interventions and unfavorable bio-climatic environment has led to transformation of large tracts of land into wastelands. Satellite remote sensing play an important role in generating information about the latest land use-land cover pattern in an /area and its temporal changes through times. The information being in digital form can be brought under Geographical Information System (GIS) to provide a suitable platform for data analysis, update and retrieval.

Agrinet Solutions has carried out a study to locate the barren and degraded areas in parts of Orissa, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh by using digital satellite data.

Ground water potential

Ground water  constitutes an imortant source of water for various purposes like domestic needs ,supply for industries and mainly for agriculture etc.The conventional approaches  for groundwater investigation are ground based surveys and exploratory drilling which are time consuming and uneconomical.Keeping this in view, Agrinet Solutions carried out study to demarcate ground water potential zones in the areas of bangarapet taluka, of Kolar district, Karnataka using an integrated approach of remote sensing & GIS and knowledge expertise of agriculture and geology.
